Transfer retention is a complex task to address; retention is even more challenging when a single office attempts to address it alone.  This session will highlight how Western New England University’s Admissions Office and the Office of First Year Students & Students in Transition collaborated to improve the transfer student experience.  Acknowledging that some transfer needs were not being met, new programs, services and communication plans were developed as a result.  Topics will revolve around the admissions process, early course registration, curriculum mapping, creating transfer support programming, and institutional buy-in.  Time will also be allocated for the group to discuss how other institutions have addressed meeting the changing and complex needs of transfer students.
